The Sale

The day of the sale was a busy, beautiful day!

We happily welcomed our first early birds at 7am and from there the traffic flow continued. The pictures I ended up with from Friday and Saturday are very random because when anything interesting was going on the last thing any of us were thinking was, 'Oh, take a picture!' But I did end up with photos of some of our biggest helpers...

Thank you Amy, Jen, and Becca for spending Friday pricing, organizing and helping get ready for Saturday.

Thank you, Linds, for putting your expertise to use ;) and painting all of our road signs!

Sydni, best friend Kendra, and little brothers Kolt and Isaac helped in their own way by entertaining themselves.

Despite how it appears, the guys honestly did a lot more than sit around, but the image of them lounging so comfortably in the middle of the driveway on a couch that read $10...priceless.

Brian manned the grill for lunch.

Following lunch things slowed way down, so we all sat and enjoyed the sunshine. :)

Thank you to everyone who so generously demonstrated their support. The donations, helping hands, and large turnout were overwhelming and we are so grateful. A super special thanks to my sister and my mom. Without them the sale would have never happened. Thank you, every one of you, for blessing us! 

Inspired by Baby (mama's gettin' crazy)

After a full day of 'family car' shopping yesterday as well as some itty bitty baby-clothes gazing, today Brian and I are inspired. We're setting our fears aside and following our hearts. We're moving and re-purposing furniture, switching rooms (office/spare bedroom and nursery), stowing closet doors in the attic, talking more new paint(!!!) and planning for the future.

With that said, we realize that 

everything could change in the blink of an eye.

Still, we are joyful.

Here's the story...
On Friday, February 10, we received a call from our case worker saying that we had been chosen by a birth mom.
On Friday, March 9, we, along with our caseworker, met Birth Mom, Birth Dad, birth mom's grandparents and their pregnancy counselor for dinner. We enjoyed over an hour and a half of good conversation and delicious Italian food.
Today, exactly two months since originally hearing about our prospective Baby, I had the pleasure of attending Baby's 20 week ultrasound. Birth Dad and Birth Grandma were present too.


We listened to Baby's heartbeat, heard all of Baby's measurements, and watched Baby wiggle about. Baby is healthy and appears to love sitting with his/her ankles crossed, just like his/her Birth Mama. :) Being there, as potential adoptive mama, was an incredible privilege, one I'll never forget.


Brian and I don't love having to remain so guarded, but due to Birth Mom and Birth Dad's circumstances it is necessary. We can't wait to celebrate fully but for now we are happy and we hope that our family and friends can join in our excitement. 


To all who inquired about our adoption over the last two months, and to whom we replied, 'Yep, still waiting...' : Thank you for caring enough to ask, we appreciate you, we really do! We apologize for holding out on you but thought it necessary to wait until at least our second meeting with Birth Mom, before sharing our news. We have no control in this situation and the birth parents may change their minds, but we know that God has brought us together for a reason and for that we give Him praise. We are thankful that these two (soon to be three) are in our life and we look forward to seeing where this journey takes us.


Please pray for Birth Mom and Birth Dad, and pray for Baby. And if you have a prayer left, pray for Brian and I as we prepare for whatever God has in store for our future!

Adoption Sale Update

A big thank you to everyone who has showered us with such a wide variety of things. My mom's garage is filled with quite the selection! We are continuing to accept things through Friday, April 13. (After that, we'll be using our time to organize and price.)

We appreciate all the support we've received and we look forward to a fun-filled day on April 21.
